When I was a child I heard a missionary story where a little boy ate sugar cane. I am 46 years old and ever since hearing that story I have wanted to try eating sugar cane. Well, yesterday I had my first opportunity. We were given a bundle of cane about as wide as my arm span, with about 13 or 14 thick poles. The cane is good! It is sweet. However it is so much work that I’m sure you wouldn’t get too much sugar if this is the only form you eat it in. My question is, is there a ladylike way to eat it? So far I have tried cutting it in small pieces (which is not easy) and chewing it, but it is so fibrous that you must spit out the fibers. It is not something I would want to eat in front of you. Any ideas?
Yesterday we planted 3 banana trees–my husband did. I just placed coral around them and spread out sand inside the circle, so my efforts were light and cosmetic. Steve plans the yard and garden and then enrolls our help to accomplish the goal. The children have done a lot of planting and watering. We’ve all carried coral from the beach. No, we’re not harvesting live coral, only the stuff washed up on the beach.
I don’t know how many of you noticed my poll on fruitiply.com, but I am really curious to know how many of you have experienced an unusual amount of spiritual warfare in your home this year. It’s not something we generally go around talking about, but we have had unprecedented and extended warfare. In the past our warfare has been occasional, short term and intense, but this year it has seemed to be designed to wear us out with duration and wicked thoughts obviously from the enemy. Some I am close to have indicated that they have experienced similarly this year. Please take time to answer the poll. –Just curious.

I’ve always wondered what that would be like! It’s neat that you got to try it!
Great poll, too!
