And Then I Screamed!!!

I was sleeping soundly in the middle of the night, until I felt something–what was that? Ow, I screamed! It’s stinging or biting or something! What is it? Steve leaped from the bed and turned on the light. I looked down and immediately threw it off of me! It was one of those centipedes! It was about two inches from the very top of my leg on my inner thigh! What did I ever do to you, I smarted at it! Running to the bathroom I turned on the light to inspect my bite. It was stinging and I began to feel sick to my stomach. My husband so rudely awakened, and was searching for the invader. It seems I had thrown it on him in my haste and he had hurriedly brushed it off–but now, where was it? He was standing beside the bed searching the sheets when he looked down and found it–still on him! We were both wide awake now, but it wasn’t even 2 am so after Steve killed the big bug and he looked it up on the internet we drifted back off for the night.

We have fish head soup in the pot again today. The soup my husband was served still had the whole head in it. He got an eyeball–when cooked it’s like a b-b. I picked the meat off of ours and only put the meat in the pot (the best I could do since my husband wanted fish head soup.) At church we were given some coco plums and a jar of homemade stewed plums. Someone also made a type of corn bread for us. The people here are kind and generous.

We have gone through a lot this year and I had been feeling rather depleted emotionally and physically. Praise the Lord some folk have been praying for us and today I have felt renewed and ready for the work. It’s a good thing since Tuesday begins a very busy time for us. On Tuesday morning we have a three hour children’s program, and that night I teach a couple of piano lessons. On Wednesday we have the program and church that night. On Thursday we have the program and teacher training at night. On Friday we have the program and instrumental practice that night followed by a family night at the church. On Saturday we have prayer meeting and visitation probably followed by counseling. On Sunday we begin it all again. (Praise the Lord for Monday family days!) This will continue for a month! Anyone willing to pray? We welcome your intercession.
The van’s leaving!
Must go!

Is that the same kind of centipede that Mr. Britton told us about? Scary!

AGHHHHH!!! I would be lining the floor and walls around my bed with sticky traps! …Wait…how much do THOSE cost there?…never mind probably. Ugh. I’ll pray for you! ;)

Seriously though Mom, I will be praying for you both physically and emotionally. I love you.

Yes, Steven it is the same kind of centipede Mr. Britton told us about.
Elisabeth, we put out some kind of traps and had the house sprayed. They have to come back and spray the outside and the attic. It is too hot up there to spray it all in one day.

Thank you for your prayers. I love you.
