We have been set up! Don’t be alarmed. God did it! God loves to set his people up to let their light shine and glorify their Father in Heaven. This happens repeatedly in our lives. In some way God sees to it that the going gets tough for us and bang! We have the opportunity! What do you mean? I mean we have the chance to walk what we talk. We have the chance to be good sports–the referee is always right.
When I was a child I participated in a Bible quiz program where we studied certain parts of the Bible all year long until we knew the material thoroughly. At the end of the year we competed with others who had done the same. One year was memorable. We knew the material! The quiz contest went into overtime as two teams were equally matched. Then a call was made. One of our contestants had mispronounced a word. Never mind that he/she pronounced it as instructed by pastor. An English teacher said the pronunciation was incorrect. We were crushed. The pastor made an appeal. It was denied. We both knew the material equally well but a call was made. We were set up! A year of study for 4th-6th graders. What a disappointment. We now had the choice: be bitter or better.
