Hi! I’m Visiting My Blog

Hi!  I haven’t been on in a while.  I have learned a great lesson:  Never leave your laptop open and unattended.  I left mine on a side table in the church copier hallway, and a little person knocked it over, breaking the connection from the mother board, I am told.  (My ignorance in that area is so great that I have no idea whether I even spelled mother board correctly or not.)  It will be more costly to repair my computer than it cost to begin with.  Hence, it is a rare occasion when I find an available computer when I have time to work on it.  However, God is Sovereign!  No circumstance comes to me, His child, that has not gotten His permission first!  What peace we have, resting in Him!

Although I have been absent from the computer, God has not been absent from the Corbett family!  He is daily as Awesome as ever:  faithfully teaching us, providing for us and giving us opportunities for service.  One area  that the Holy Spirit has been dealing with in my life is quite humbling to share.  All my life I have prided myself in being obedient and submissive to my authorities.  What the Holy Spirit has been showing me is that I do not have a submissive spirit.  I am not content to quietly share my opinion.  I have felt it my duty to argue my point.  I will share one case in point while trying to keep the situation anonymous.  For many years I have cried, argued and pled with my husband to allow us to spend time at a certain location.  He would take us but would strictly limit our time and freedom while there.  I resisted long and hard.  After years of this God allowed me to know His reason for this direction from God through my authority.  There was something at this location that none of us were aware of that would have done HUGE damage to my children spiritually.  When God graciously allowed me to know His reason in this area, suddenly all areas of resistance in my life are coming to light.  I am so ashamed of my stubbornness!  God is So Gracious!  Submission is becoming a matter of trust in God for me now.  He is patiently pointing out my areas of weakness and I am happy to comply!  What joy!  I hope I never forget this lesson!  May God use my story to help someone else.  God is Sovereign!
