Several years ago my husband said as he was leaving for the day, that when he was finished with some errands he would stop by and pick Steven up from working for a friend. I usually picked Steven up after work; so, when Steven finished his work he called to say I could run over and get him now. It was a short distance and seemed so insignificant; but I said, “I know this may sound really silly; but your Dad said he was going to pick you up, and I feel I should not come.” Steven was fine with that. A few minutes later we smelled smoke. In trying to locate the smoke we found that the children had taken the shade off of a lamp and put the lamp on their bed. The lamp had fallen over on the bed and had burned a hole several inches into the mattress. God, in His foreknowledge had instructed me to stay at home that afternoon through an unusual comment from my authority, my husband.
Today the lesson was repeated in a small but significant way to me when my husband asked me not to take the plastic off of a new Bible we were giving to Timothy for his birthday. I had planned to sign the Bible before we gave it to him; but at the request of my husband, I left the plastic on, and did not sign it. At Timothy’s family celebration some ice cream was spilled on the new Bible. If I had argued my point, received permission, and signed the Bible, it would already be damaged. God is so good to provide protection for us through obedience to our authorities! Thank you, LORD!

This is so true! I have seen it over and over again! These are two great examples of how the Lord directs.
Thank you!
