Our Heavenly Father is a Precious Daddy too

In early December I was talking to our Abba (Daddy) Father, telling him how there were so many things I would like to give to my husband for Christmas.  I wasn’t thinking about gifts for the children because I assumed that my husband would plan for that.  I talk to the LORD like I talk to you.  We are friends.  I was telling him that my husband could really use a new suit, an over coat for the cold weather, his shoes were in bad shape, his dress shirts were not that great either.  He needed a pair of gloves for driving in the cold weather, and then there was this sort of luxury item I really wanted to give him.  It was an mp3 player.  See, my husband listens to the Bible on cd in the van as he drives; but when we get in, we put in music.  In so doing we lose his place on the cd, and it becomes a real nuisance to my husband.  Well, I wanted to give him an mp3 player so that he could listen to the Bible without us losing his place so often.  I told God that I had chosen the mp3 player and driving gloves as the gifts I really wanted to give.  Would He please enable me.  Shortly I received a monetary gift which allowed me, with the invaluable help of our son, Steven, to purchase the mp3 player, the driving gloves, a dress shirt and a tie!  I was so excited!  Wow!  God is so amazing!  But the story didn’t stop there.  We stopped by a thrift store and there were 2 suits, perfectly fitted for my husband!  They were only 15 dollars, and my husband was able to buy them.  We received another Christmas gift, and my husband was able to get the dress shoes he so desperately needed.  Just this past week God completed my wish list.  I was in a thrift store.  Someone had donated a beautiful long wool overcoat, just my husband’s size.  It was $20!  My husband had just given me enough to buy it that morning.  Then yesterday, I was back in the thrift store, and we found another dress shirt for $3.  God met every need my husband had, just as He has been doing for all 25 years of our married life!  Oh the stories I can tell!  I love to sing, Great Is Thy Faithfulness!  All I have needed thy hand hath provided–over and over again!  And, I have proven Him true, what He says, He will do.  He never has failed me!  God is amazing!
