Your Money?

As a full time wife and mother, money is NOT one of my biggest resources. :) So when I do get some I can immediately think of something to do with it! :) Are you where I am?

Recently I was thinking of oh so many things I could do with some extra funds when an old thought reintroduced itself to me: “For where your treasure is there will your heart be also.”

I remembered the story about the man who gave money to his servants and went away trusting them to use it for him as he would have it used. As stewards for Jesus Christ do we put the money that comes through our hands where He would put it? I think I have misspent some–probably more than I would like to think.

Which of those servants in the story represents you? There are three: one entrusted with 10 portions, one entrusted with 5 and one only entrusted with 1. Those with 5 and 10 doubled the master’s money for him. The last one hid his and gained nothing. His portion was taken from him and given to the one with 10.

You probably know which ones of your children you can trust with what. So did this master. So does our Lord.

Goal: Remember to ask the Lord what the funds are for that He sends my way. I am certain that this practice will make me more thoughtful, serious and careful about how money is used. What about you?

Wow. That hit me hard. You’re so right. It really adds a lot of weight to what could otherwise be somewhat frivolous decisions.

Thank you for the excellent thoughts. I’m going to make a conscious effort! :)

Thanks for the blog. I am always thinking of things I need or want and having little or no money. I need to be more careful in my decisions of how I spend the money that I do have!!!!!
