Not long after we moved to Mississippi we went to see the Browns (an older couple that went to our church). They had a farm, so they had chickens running around in their yard. After a little bit we kids went outside and started trying to catch the chickens! The Browns laughed and said that if we caught any we could have them.
When we left that night, ( to the great surprise of the Browns ) we took several chickens with us!

I remember this too. They didn’t think you would really be able to catch those chickens; but they did mean it when they said if you caught them you could have them. I believe Daddy limited your efforts though.
