Once when we were living in Booneville, a few of us kids decided to take a walk to the creek behind our house.\u00c2\u00a0 We had to walk through some woods to get to it.<\/p>\n

Rachel and I ran upstairs to get our shoes on, and we decided to wear flip-flops since it was so hot!\u00c2\u00a0 We quickly slipped them on and ran down the stairs.<\/p>\n

We reached the hallway at almost the same time that Daddy entered it from the livingroom.\u00c2\u00a0When He saw us running to the door, he asked us where we were going,\u00c2\u00a0 we hurriedly told him that we were taking a walk to the creek!\u00c2\u00a0 Daddy looked down at our feet and said, “I’d really rather y’all wear sneakers.”\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0So we raced back upstairs, pulled on some socks and sneakers,\u00c2\u00a0 flew down the stairs and finally out into the yard!<\/p>\n

The others were already out there\u00c2\u00a0waiting for us, so as soon as Rachel and I reached the group\u00c2\u00a0everybody\u00c2\u00a0headed toward the woods.\u00c2\u00a0 Timothy and I were in the lead, talking as we hurried on.\u00c2\u00a0 We hadn’t even gotten out of our yard when I felt something strange under my feet!\u00c2\u00a0 Looking down, I saw, to my horror, a big, fat snake!<\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0 Daniel saw it and hollered, but it was too late.\u00c2\u00a0 I screamed and jumped back, the snake struck, and clamped his mouth over the front of my sneaker,\u00c2\u00a0inside of which were five tensed little toes.\u00c2\u00a0I was scared to death!<\/p>\n

\"SNAKE!!\"
\nThen, just as quickly as it had happened, the snake droped off and slithered away.<\/p>\n

Everyone thronged around me as I ran toward the house as fast as I could. \u00c2\u00a0I limped slightly, it just seemed like the thing to do. And when I got inside, I threw\u00c2\u00a0my shoes off\u00c2\u00a0and hastily began searching my foot for two small holes.\u00c2\u00a0 Daddy and Mom rushed in and checked, too.\u00c2\u00a0 We didn’t find any.\u00c2\u00a0 Daddy went out with a hoe and looked for the snake, but it was gone.\u00c2\u00a0For a long time\u00c2\u00a0after that, we girls didn’t want to take any more walks!<\/p>\n

I was really thankful that Daddy had told me to wear sneakers.<\/p>\n

This is just one of the many times God has protected\u00c2\u00a0someone in our family\u00c2\u00a0through our authorities instructions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
